Workshop on the Emerging Applications and Future Directions of the Boundary Element Method, September 1-3, 2010, Cleveland, Ohio. This workshop will start with a two-day short course on the basics of the BEM (including an introduction to the BEM, Green's functions, symmetric Galerkin BEM and the fast multipole BEM, to be given by well known researchers in the BEM fields. Then, a one-day symposium will focus on the emerging applications of the BEM and discussions of its future directions by a group of experts from around the world. Students, engineers and researchers can learn both the basic approaches and the latest developments in the BEM by attending this workshop. The registration fee is $300 for the three-day workshop that will cover the lecture materials. Fellowships are available to students in US universities that will cover the expenses of travel and lodging plus a waiver of the registration fee.
